We all fear death.
The about d_th exhibition invites us to explore the concept of death and reflect on its romantic elements as individuals who are simultaneously living and dying. This piece visualizes the artist’s contemplation of death and its inherent beauty. The goal is not to change your perspective or diminish fear, but to create a space for self-reflection and dialogue. A bilingual solution: transparency and vibrant gradient colors, creating a contrasting expression of the perspectives of ‘loss’ and ‘the beauty of nature’ in death.
A conflict arises between giving birth and longevity. Some sacrifices occur for procreation. Touchingly, creatures over millions of years have never resisted this cycle, continuing to give birth knowing they will die after.
(1) "Dying to Bloom" is a series of artworks that explore the concept of dying in order to be reborn. The series delves into the stories of various life forms, not just cells, and emphasizes the transparent visuals used throughout the artworks to symbolize the theme of death.
In (2) "Returned," the author not only uses transparent parts but also different colors to represent the shadows of hope for rebirth.
(3) "Collateral Beauty"
Is there such a thing as the beauty of death?
Beauty is supposed to be perfect, but in reality, it's like a glimmer of light in a dark, cloudy sky. Many people have different ideas about the beauty of death, and some don't believe it exists. Nevertheless, everyone has contemplated the concept of death at some point, and that's the true meaning the author is trying to convey. In "Collateral Beauty," the author compares people's fantasies about death to crumpled papers that are hidden and almost unrecognizable. We can hear and see it, but we cannot truly understand its meaning.
